Once approved you will meet your Supervising Social Worker, who will be your designated social worker from Team Fostering, and provide support and guidance to you during your time with us.
Our Placements Team will work hard once you are approved to match you with a child or young person whose needs match your skills and abilities. We will only make a referral recommendation when we strongly believe the child or young person in question is appropriate for you and your household, and will refer back to your Form F to assure this. At Team Fostering it is part of our ethical culture that we match placements carefully to foster families, and carers should feel happy that a referred child will fit into their family. You have the right to say no to a referral should you feel that the placement would not be right.
The Placements Team are responsible for matching placements, arranging any placement moves, and co-ordinating placement ends, but also for processing carer payments and expenses, co-ordinating short break care arrangements and promoting your skills and availability as Team Fostering carers to local authorities.
