From the very beginning of your journey towards becoming a foster carer, Team Fostering will be there to support you at every step of the way.
As a potential foster carer, our recruitment team will be there for you from day one to answer your questions about fostering, help you supply the right information for your application and give you the best possible start to your life as a foster carer. Your application process is likely to take around four to six months in total, and we’ll ask you for a lot of information, but our Recruitment Social Workers will be on hand at every turn to guide you through the experience.
On your approval as a foster carer, you’ll then be supported by an even wider team of staff, all here to make sure you have everything you need in order to provide a stable and safe place to be for vulnerable children and young people. From an on-call telephone line that’s staffed around-the-clock by familiar faces from the Team Fostering social work team, to peer mentoring and monthly support groups with fellow foster carers and your own dedicated Supervising Social Worker, you’ll always have someone there for you.
It doesn’t end there either – there’s a bespoke Education and Support Service available to guide your young person through school and other activities, continuous professional development and training opportunities as you grow as a foster carer, and even away days, activities and a group holiday with other carers and children.
The sense of community is strong here at Team Fostering, and everyone, from our carers to our staff, is dedicated to putting children’s futures first and making a difference to the lives of young people.
“Foster families spoken to are highly complimentary about the support, training and contact that they receive from the agency", a foster carer commented. ‘It has been a difficult year for many people in many ways. It is my view that Team Fostering have been outstanding in the care and support they provide to children and their carers… They are simply fantastic.’”
