Many people who consider becoming a foster carer aren't aware that there are many different types of fostering.
This includes Short Term and Long Term Fostering, Specialist Placements, Fostering Siblings, Short Break Care and other types of care.
This September, Team Fostering will be highlighting and celebrating just some of these types of fostering, including some accounts from children and young people, foster carers and staff. We hope to give those who are considering fostering a better understanding of the types of care that they can provide if they were to join Team, how each works and what it means for the children and young people who they'd be looking after.
The different types of fostering mean that all children and young people are given the very best chance to have the best start in life, offering types of care and support that are tailored to each child. Our team works hard with our foster carers and Local Authorities in a thorough Matching Process to try to ensure that any placements made are successful for children and young people, along with foster carers and their families.
