"It’s so different to what we’re used to. It’s been a breath of fresh air coming to Team Fostering. We’ve got nothing but positive feelings about everyone we’ve encountered – staff, other carers, the children – everyone has been really warm and welcoming and it’s been a genuinely positive experience. We didn’t know anybody’s names where we were before, but now we’re getting to know everyone at Team. You know that you’re valued and respected here.”
- Foster carer Sharon, who transferred to Team Fostering in 2021.

At Team Fostering we understand that making a decision to transfer agencies, or to learn more about doing so, is something that you are likely to have considered for some time before contacting us. We will answer any questions that you have about the process and we will not, at this initial stage, share information about your situation with your current provider, handling your enquiry professionally and with confidentiality.
Many of the enquiries we get about fostering at Team Fostering come from those who are already foster carers and wish to transfer to us from other agencies or providers across the North East, Yorkshire and East Midlands. This could be from other private agencies or from local authority fostering services, and sometimes the carers have a child or young person in placement with their current service that they continue to look after during and after the transfer process. With local offices in North Tyneside, Sheffield, Middlesbrough and South Normanton, we're happy to speak to current carers that contact us to learn more.
If you transfer to Team Fostering with a child in placement, we will work closely with your current agency and relevant local authority to ensure that the transition for you and the child runs as smoothly as possible. We've got some Frequently Asked Questions about the transfer process here.
We adhere to The Fostering Network's Transfer of Foster Carer Protocol.
If you aren’t quite ready to register an enquiry with us but would like to chat with us about transferring agencies, more detail on our assessment process or anything else, contact your local Team Fostering office.
