Team Fostering is an ethical not for profit fostering agency with a strong reputation and track record for providing high quality fostering placements for looked after children. We are now looking to recruit an Education and Support Service Worker to provide specialist educational input and support to children and their Foster Carers.  The successful candidate will become part of a committed and dynamic education and support service working creatively and professionally with staff and carers to provide the best possible services for looked after children.

The support offered by the team ranges from help with education, supporting young people to prepare for independence, ensuring that children contribute towards how our services are run, developing and facilitating activities for children and their families, and providing targeted support where required.

Candidates with skills and experience in teaching, classroom assistance, education provision and experience of supporting looked after children are encouraged to apply.  The post will require a mixture of direct work with children and young people, advocating for children and foster carers, liaising with virtual schools, social workers and other professionals, and attending meetings regrading education.  These may include PEP meetings, EHC plan meetings, and re-integration meetings following school exclusions.

The post is based at our Sheffield Office; however, you will be required to work flexibly across the Yorkshire and East Midlands region. It will also be necessary to work outside of normal office hours including some evening and weekend work.

For an informal chat about the post please contact Steve Elliff, Education and Support Service Manager, on 07985553044.
