It can take between 4 to 6 months to be approved as a foster carer, depending on your family circumstances and personal history. As we’ve said before, no two families are the same, and the assessment process can be different for each family. The assessment process is very rigorous and robust and we try to ensure that we have gathered all the available information about you and your family so that once you are approved, your fostering career is a success.
