How We Will Look After You

Team Fostering looks for many different types of families, who can foster children and young people. We know that for different children, there are many different family “types” which would best suit what the young person needs. We like to have a range of different family types, living in different areas, so the best family available for you can be chosen, dependent on what you need, and want.

We spend a lot of time talking to people who want to foster, and make a lot of checks to see that they are Ok to look after children. When it comes to deciding whether someone can foster for Team Fostering, there are a lot of people involved in that decision. This is to be sure that you will be safe, and looked after by carers who can show that they like to be with children. More importantly, that children like to be with them!

We think it’s important that you are made welcome when you come to a Team Fostering family. We want you to feel valued, and every child we place is special. Our staff will ask your social worker lots of questions about what you like, and we let the foster carers who are going to look after you know. We also find out what you need to keep you safe, and your foster carers will be told about any special considerations there are to help with this.

We send out a welcome pack to you when you come to live with Team Fostering carers. This lets you know about being fostered by Team Fostering. We let you know about what you can expect from us, and also how to let us know if there is anything you aren’t happy with. We also give young people who come to Team a gift voucher, just as a little gift to say hello, and welcome.
